The Oleta River State Park is a 1000+ acre park in North Miami. The park is located on Biscayne Bay with the Oleta River winding it way through the park. The park provides a home to water birds who feed along the mangrove-lined shores. The West Indian Manatee enjoys the more peaceful waterways within the park.

The park provides outdoor adventurers a lot of choices from bike trails, walking trails, paved trails (good for rollerblading), canoeing, kayaking, picnics, boating, fishing, swimming, grilling, and camping.

The bike trails provide over 10 miles of intermediate to challenging trails and three miles of paved trails. Bike rentals are available at the concession stand. Canoes and kayaks can also be rented from the concession stand.

Enjoy the 1,200-foot sandy beach and saltwater fishing from the pier on Biscayne Bay. The picnic areas do have grills for cooking. There is a man made swimming area for the little ones or swimming off the beach offers a little more surf.

The park features a boat ramp and camping facilities are available. For overnight visits, the park has rustic, air-conditioned cabins and a youth campground for organized groups. Make your reservation early.
